Call for submissions: Chaktomuk Short Film Festival 2023

Now on its 12th edition, the Chaktomuk Short Film Festival (CSFF) in Cambodia is now accepting submissions for fiction and documentary short films. Organised by the Sunflower Film Alliance and Cambodia-based film professionals, the film festival aims to celebrate short films from around the world. Local filmmakers are encouraged to make their debuts by joining the festival.

For this year’s festival, new categories of accolades have been added: jury special mentions for local short film and jury special mention for international short film.

The prizes will cover the following:

  • Best Cambodian Short Film
  • First Runner-Up Cambodian Short Film
  • Best International Short Film
  • Audience Award for Local Short Film
  • Audience Award for International Short Film
  • Jury Special Mention for Local Short Film
  • Jury Special Mention for International Short Film

The deadline for submission is on August 15, 2023. Entries may be submitted through https://filmfreeway.com/CSFF or http://csff.co/submission/.

The main festival will be held in October 2023 and will be preceded by a lineup of campaigns, such as Chaktomuk Film Insight, influencers’ campaigns, university outreach campaigns, and press conferences.

“Chaktomuk Short Film Festival is the only short film platform in the country that is completely grassroots, aligning itself with the interests and growth of the community. We hope to uplift, provoke, and challenge both our audiences and filmmakers this year [and to strengthen] the spirit of what it means to be an artist in this country,” said CSFF manager Sansitny Ruth.
